Fatal Error
A fatal error has hit the server destroying all the information and taking down your business’s website. Did you notice? Nope? Neither did anyone else. Our backup systems took over and the sites in question didn’t skip a beat.
The fact of the matter is that hard drives fail. Under normal use they wear out and die. Is your business fully backed up? What sort of damage to your business would be suffered if you found one of your computers had died? Save early, Save often.
Flash drives and removable hard disks are okay in a pinch, but spreading your backups across media is a better idea. Backup crucial files on CD or DVD. Use an on-line archiving tool. Keep an off-site backup.
Ten minutes a week will save months of work in the long run, because it’s not a question of ’if’, it’s a question of ’when’.
